  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, egg, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  2. Shape mixture into golf-sized meatballs. Brown in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat until golden on all sides.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and onions; sprinkle with sugar. Cook on low until caramelized (15-20 minutes).
  4. Stir in beef broth and optional grape juice; simmer. Add Worcestershire sauce and flour mixed with water to thicken.
  5. Nestle meatballs back into the onion sauce in the skillet; top with Gruyère cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes until bubbly.
