Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions and mushrooms until caramelized (about 7-9 minutes).
  4. Lower heat and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, whisk in flour for about 1-2 minutes. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until smooth.
  5. Return patties to the skillet with the gravy mixture and simmer for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
