  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for meringue)
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Combine lukewarm milk, water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl; let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl; gradually combine with the yeast mixture and melted butter to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth; let rise covered until doubled in size (about 20 minutes).
  4. Prepare filling by heating cream, chocolate chips, sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread ganache and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs before rolling tightly.
  6. Cut into rolls and place in greased dish; let rise again for about 15 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Whip egg whites with sugar and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form; spread on baked rolls and broil briefly until toasted.
