  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for glazing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Scoop dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth; drizzle over cooled cookies.
