  • 1 pound raw extra jumbo shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 large garlic cloves (roughly chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 teaspoons agave syrup, lime slices, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, jalapeño, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and agave syrup (if using). Blend until smooth.
  2. Add shrimp to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to let flavors infuse.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Skewer the shrimp and lime slices alternately (if using skewers).
  5. Grill shrimp for about 3–4 minutes per side until they are opaque and slightly charred.
  6. Remove from grill and garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges before serving.
