Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sushi-grade Ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and honey to create the marinade.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour half the marinade over them, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over high heat and add vegetable oil.
  4. Once the pan is hot, gently place the marinated tuna steaks inside. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare doneness.
  5. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
