Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
Add-ins
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Oven
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Add Cheese and Herbs
  1. Fold in the cheddar cheese, chives, and parsley until evenly distributed.
Shape the Dough
  1. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
Bake the Bread
  1. Place the loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool and Serve
  1. Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
