Ingredients
  

Meatball Base
  • 0.5 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup finely grated onion
  • 0.25 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.125 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.75 cups beef broth
  • 0.75 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated onion, egg, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form into 1-inch meatballs (about 28 meatballs).
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a bit of oil or butter. Brown meatballs in batches, turning to sear all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook 1–2 minutes until golden.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth, followed by heavy cream. Stir in Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet. Simmer in sauce for 10–12 minutes until fully cooked through.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes
