Ingredients
  

Tofu Nuggets
  • 14 oz firm tofu pressed and cubed
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 cup plant-based milk unsweetened
Dipping Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Method
 

Prepare Tofu
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
Coat Tofu
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip each tofu cube into the flour mixture, then into the plant-based milk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs mixed with oregano and thyme.
Bake Tofu Nuggets
  1. Place the coated tofu nuggets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  2. Bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Prepare Dipping Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil.
Serve
  1. Serve the crispy tofu nuggets hot with the dipping sauce on the side.

Notes
