Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped (for gravy)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (for gravy)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Form into 1.5-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides. Set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until golden.
  5. Sprinkle flour over veggies and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer to thicken.
  7. Add meatballs back to skillet. Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning and serve with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
