- Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks until no pink remains.
- Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to coat. Let it cook for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the milk while stirring. Continue to stir and cook over medium heat until the gravy thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
- Season with salt and plenty of black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
- While the gravy thickens, bake or warm your biscuits according to instructions.
- Split the biscuits and spoon the hot sausage gravy over them. Serve immediately.
