Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup whole milk warmed
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed for filling
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened for filling
  • 4 oz cream cheese for frosting
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened for frosting
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar for frosting

Method
 

  1. Warm the whole milk and unsalted butter in a saucepan until butter is melted. Let it cool to lukewarm.
  2. In a bowl, combine the warm milk mixture with active dry yeast and granulated sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add the egg, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix and knead until the dough is smooth, about 5 minutes. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. For the filling, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter into a paste.
  5. Roll the dough into a 9x14-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll tightly and cut into 9 equal rolls.
  6. Place the rolls in a greased 9x9-inch pan. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 22–25 minutes until golden.
  8. Beat the cream cheese, softened butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls and serve.
