Dough
  • ¾ cup whole milk warm
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Filling
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
Frosting
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Warm the whole milk and unsalted butter in a saucepan until the butter melts. Let it cool to lukewarm.
  2. In a bowl, combine the warm milk mixture with active dry yeast and granulated sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add the egg, all-purpose flour, and salt to the bowl. Mix and knead until the dough is smooth, about 5 minutes. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
Filling and Baking
  1. Mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter into a paste for the filling.
  2. Roll the dough into a 9x14-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly, roll tightly, and cut into 9 equal rolls.
  3. Place the rolls in a greased 9x9-inch pan. Cover and allow them to rise again for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 22-25 minutes until golden.
Frosting
  1. Beat the cream cheese, softened butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls and serve.
