Prepare the Ingredients
- Chop the onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
- Drain and rinse the kidney and black beans.
Cook the Meat
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
Add Vegetables
- Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Combine Ingredients
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the diced tomatoes and beef broth, and bring to a simmer.
- Add the kidney and black beans, and stir to combine.
Simmer the Chili
- Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve
- Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
