Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup warm water temperature around 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
Topping
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Method
 

Making the Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in olive oil, salt, and flour. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a 6-inch rope and tie into a loose knot.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with a towel. Let rise for 20–25 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Bake knots for 15–17 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
Preparing Topping
  1. While baking, melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
  2. Immediately after baking, brush warm knots generously with garlic butter.
  3. Sprinkle grated parmesan on top and serve warm.
