  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 5 cups vegetable oil

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, applesauce, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in nuts or raisins if using.
  6. Pour into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and enjoy!
