  • 2 cups buttermilk Adds moisture and flavor.

  • 2 tsp garlic powder Brings savory depth to the flavor.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Enhances the overall taste profile.
  • 1 tsp paprika Adds a mild sweetness and color.
  • 1 tsp oregano Infuses a hint of earthiness.
  • 1.5 tsp salt Adjust to taste for seasoning.
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper Provides a subtle kick.
  • 0.5 cup hot sauce Gives the dish its signature heat.
  • 0.5 cup honey Balances the spiciness with sweetness.
  • Oil for frying Essential for achieving that crispy texture.

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Add the chicken tenderloins along with half of the spice blend and buttermilk into a bowl. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
  3. Place the flour, cornstarch, and remaining spices into a large bag. Mix well before dipping each chicken tender.
  4. Heat the oil to 350 degrees F and fry each chicken tender for about 3 minutes on each side.
  5. While your chicken is frying, add hot sauce and honey to a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Coat your crispy chicken tenders with the hot honey sauce generously before serving.
