Ingredients
  

Salad Ingredients
  • 2 cups Romaine Lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup Cucumber diced
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Pepperoncini sliced
  • 1 cup Black Olives sliced
  • 1 cup Italian Dressing store-bought or homemade
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 pieces Sub Rolls or hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices Salami thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Capicola thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Provolone Cheese thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Salad
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, pepperoncini, and black olives.
  2. Pour the Italian dressing over the salad and toss well to combine.
Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise.
  2. Layer the salami, capicola, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
  3. Spoon a generous amount of the prepared salad on top of the meats and cheese.
  4. Sprinkle chopped basil over the salad, then close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.
  5. If desired, press the sandwich in a sandwich press or grill for a few minutes until warmed through.
