Prepare the Salad
- In a mixing bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, pepperoncini, and black olives.
- Pour the Italian dressing over the salad and toss well to combine.
Assemble the Sandwich
- Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise.
- Layer the salami, capicola, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
- Spoon a generous amount of the prepared salad on top of the meats and cheese.
- Sprinkle chopped basil over the salad, then close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.
- If desired, press the sandwich in a sandwich press or grill for a few minutes until warmed through.
