Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon white miso See Note 1 for substitutions.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce See Note 2 for substitutions.
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or agave nectar or honey (not vegan).
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds a nutty depth of flavor.
  • 1 pound green beans Fresh or frozen work well.
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or other neutral oil with high smoke point.
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced for a punch of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds For garnish and added crunch.

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Wash the green beans thoroughly, trim the ends, and mince the garlic cloves finely.
  2. Mix the Sauce: Whisk together the white miso, soy sauce, maple syrup, and sesame oil until smooth.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the avocado oil and heat until shimmering.
  4. Cook the Green Beans: Add the trimmed green beans and toss with the garlic, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine with Sauce: Pour the prepared miso sauce over the cooked green beans and toss to coat.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
