Ingredients

Sausage Gravy
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Biscuits
  • 6 biscuits homemade or store-bought

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks until no pink remains.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to coat. Let it cook for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring. Continue to stir and cook over medium heat until the gravy thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and plenty of black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
  5. While the gravy thickens, bake or warm your biscuits according to instructions.
  6. Split the biscuits and spoon the hot sausage gravy over them. Serve immediately.
