Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 12 slices baguette
Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic cut in half
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 12 pieces cherry tomatoes
  • 12 pieces black olives halved
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • fresh basil leaves optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the baguette into 12 rounds.
  2. Brush each slice with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Toast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  4. While still warm, gently rub a cut garlic clove over the surface of each toasted slice.
  5. Place cherry tomatoes on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and roast at 400°F for 10-12 minutes until they blister slightly.
  6. Slice black olives in half for spider bodies. Cut additional olives into thin slivers for legs.
  7. Spread each toasted slice with cream cheese.
  8. Top with one or two roasted tomatoes, then place the olive spider on top.
  9. Add fresh basil leaves if desired and serve immediately.
