Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch optional
  • 1 tablespoon water for cornstarch slurry, optional

Method
 

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized cubes and pat them dry.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add steak bites in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, then add butter and garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-5 minutes to slightly thicken.
  6. Optional: Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce further.
  7. Return steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 2-3 more minutes.
  8. Serve hot with your choice of side.
